This pattern is available to purchase on Ravelry.com for $3.00 US

As it is a perfect, quick gift for the holidays, and I have developed sizing not only for adult ladies, but for Juniors and Girls, too. I have a newborn son, and even with the sleep deprivation and constant feeding, I am able to power through one faux sock a day.

The idea for these faux socks came from winter time chunky knit lust. Living in California the need for thick, luxurious wool socks is pretty slim, but traveling to snowy Lake Tahoe for New Years provides real needs for warming up. Watching the snow bunnies trot around the resorts for dinner with their big wool socks under even chunkier boots sparked an idea. In order to get those socks to fit, a sizing up my boots was needed, but what about all of the fabulous winter time boots I already own?

With the blustery winds of winter come shorter days, and seemingly less and less time to get ready for the holidays. With boot season in full swing, these boot cuffs make you the clever fox, by creating the look of a luxurious wool sock with only a fraction of the work, and not changing the fit of your foot in your boot, though they are absolutely perfect for narrowing the gap at the top of too large boot shaft. Shown in the color of the red fox, (Karabella Aurora 8 in Rust) and her soft off-white underbelly (Berroco Vintage in Mushroom) these Boot Dickies™ will also make the perfect holiday gift, taking only a few hours to knit each one.

The pattern for the girls sizing is quite similar to the adult sizing & the juniors sizing, but the number of circular repeats of the charts is two times, each, instead of three. As with the juniors sizing these Clever Fox Faux Socks are completed with smaller needles and a DK weight yarn, Madelinetosh, Tosh DK, appropriately in the color Silver Fox.
